Ueno Zoo

I visited the zoo on Saturday with a couple of other ALTs.  It wasn’t anything special.  They had like 1 or 2 of the impressive animals, ie. panda, giraffe, rhinocerous, hippopotamus (they had a few pygmy ones, but those don’t count because they are miniature).  And a lot of the animals had tiny cages and they looked really unhappy.  A lot of them looked dead; they were just lying there.  My favourite “exhibit” were the penguins.  I don’t remember the name of the species, but they were the ones in March of the Penguins. 

I guess the polar bears and the panda were cool too, but the polar bears looked kind of dirty and yellow, and the panda looked pretty lonely and sad.

Too much walking for the quality of animals that were there. Not worth it I would say.

I have more pictures uploaded on facebook. My camera battery died before the hippos, rhino, and giraffe. I guess the battery is only good for 100 pictures. That isn’t a lot.

Almost home time! Then another 4 months in Japan. ahahaha
