Still Alive
I haven’t blogged in a while, but I’m still alive. It’s been just over a month since I’ve been back but it feels like a lot longer. Things have been the same: wake up, go to school, teach (maybe), sit around, leave work, watch illegally download TV programs, cook, eat dinner, watch more illegally downloaded TV programs, shower, sleep, repeat. I try to make it down to the dojo once a week and I’ve only missed one week since I’ve been back.
I’ll be traveling back home again in March to write the Pharmacy entrance test. Initially I was trying to write it here in Japan but it would have cost at least $300 for them to mail part of the test over and if my test + marks were competitive overall, I would have to fly back anyway sometime between May and August to write the multiple choice part. So I decided to do the whole thing in one shot.
This sort of messes up my plans to travel around because I’m using 7 days of holidays which leaves me with 5 for the rest of the year. I’ll have to see where I can do weekend trips.
I started watching One Tree Hill. It’s a very dramatic and unrealistic show but really entertaining. I’m about 2/3 of the way through season 4 and thought I’d save season 5 for the plane ride home in March, if I can resist. I know I won’t be able to resist.
I haven’t been taking pictures of my meals lately. They’re much different from those I was making in the beginning. I cook fish about once a week and have leftovers for another meal. Yesterday I tried pan-frying hamburgers and had the leftovers tonight. They don’t have hamburger buns, which doesn’t surprise me, but I used a “French” baguette instead. It was actually really good. The good vegetables aren’t in season, so I’m missing eggplant and spinach, and broccoli is still in stock but it’s expensive so I rarely buy it any more.
Time for bed.
